A Personal Message

Investing in My Future

My name is Jessica, and I am a senior at Hopewell High School, where I proudly serve as Senior Class President. For as long as I can remember, I have felt called to care for others. As a young girl, I started the Jessica Lauren Collection, a handmade jewelry line that benefited patients at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte. Seeing how something small could bring comfort to a child taught me that compassion is meant to be shared.

That lesson has guided me ever since. I advocate for teen dating violence awareness in Mecklenburg County, and in 2024 I founded the "Love Myself First" campaign so that every young person knows their worth. Volunteering at Belmont Health and Rehabilitation, supporting residents with speech and language needs, opened my eyes to my calling: helping others find their voice.

I am honored to have been accepted as a participant in the 2026–2027 Debutante Cotillion sponsored by the Charlotte Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, in partnership with the Deltas of Charlotte Foundation. Participating in the Debutante Cotillion Scholarship Program will allow me the opportunity to pursue my educational goal, create meaningful relationships with like-minded young ladies, and engage in activities that are designed to foster cultural enrichment, personal development, and academic achievement. The Cotillion provides college scholarships and raises funds to support community service organizations in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area.

After graduation, I plan to earn a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and pursue graduate study in speech-language pathology and audiology. The scholarships awarded through the cotillion will help make that dream a reality.

None of my journey would be possible without the people who have poured into me. To my family, my mentors, and my community: thank you for your love, your guidance, and your belief in me.

With your support, I can reach my fundraising goal. Every gift is tax-deductible and a lasting investment in my future. All donations are appreciated and tax deductible. To donate, please visit my Zeffy page or scan the QR code in the Donate section below. With a grateful heart, thank you.
